Srinagar, November 2: Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag, around 57 km from Srinagar, on Saturday.
According to the report, the terrorists were foreign nationals. They said an encounter broke out between security forces and militants in the Halkan Gali area of Kachwan, Anantnag. One out of the three terrorists was killed later on Saturday afternoon and that one dead body was spotted.
The security personnel were reportedly tracking the movement of foreign terrorists in the area when an encounter broke out and subsequently, the two terrorists were killed. They said more terrorists could be present in the area.
The security forces on Saturday morning launched one of the biggest anti-terror operations in over 30 locations across the Jammu region.
The search operations were continued in the Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, and Rajouri areas.
The search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists fired upon a search party of the forces, who retaliated, it is reported.
