Washington DC (USA), Apr 4: US President Donald Trump on Thursday unveiled the all new "Gold Card" Visa, which allows foreign nationals to gain US residency for a fee of $5 million.
Trump showcased the card’s design to reporters aboard Air Force One. It is golden in color and features an image of Donald Trump. It is also known as "The Trump Card" and clearly states its $5 million value.
Furthermore, Trump announced that the Gold Card Visa would be launched within two weeks, likely around April 17-18 or by the end of the month.
However, details on how to apply for the visa have not been released yet.
Trump himself was the first buyer of the Gold Card. When asked about the second buyer, he said he was not sure but confirmed that the visa would be available soon.
Earlier in February, the President of the United States (POTUS) had announced that the Gold Card visa will offer an alternative to the current EB-5 visa for foreign nationals.
As per reports, the Gold Card Visa is a new program designed for foreign investors. By paying $5 million (approximately ₹43 crore), individuals can obtain residency in the US along with Green Card privileges.
However, this visa does not grant immediate US citizenship but can serve as a pathway to obtaining it in the future.
The Gold Card Visa is considered a premium alternative to the traditional Green Card. According to US Citizenship and Immigration Services, Green Card holders have the right to live permanently in the US, making the Gold Card Visa an attractive option for wealthy investors.
With its $5 million price tag, the Gold Card Visa is expected to appeal to high-net-worth individuals looking to secure residency in the United States.
