Rourkela, February 7: Indian Railways placed four railway personnel under suspension after goods train derailed in Odisha’s Rourkela on Wednesday.
The four suspended crew members are Station Manager Rourkela station, the loco pilot, the guard and the centring employee, who were on duty.
Following an investigation into the incident by General Manager Anil Mishra, it was revealed that the accident took place due to the sheer negligence of the crew members.
Worth mentioning, three wagons of a goods train jumped off the tracks and crashed into the Malgodown area in the Basanti Colony on Wednesday. As a result, a panic was wreaked in the colony and an autorickshaw was also crushed over.
