Balasore, April 16: As many as 40 passengers’ sustained injuries in a road accident involving a private bus and a trailer truck in Odisha's Balasore district earlier today. The incident occurred on National Highway-16 near Soro College Chowk.
According to reports, the private passenger bus named Ajay was traveling over a bridge near Satsang Vihar when it collided with a trailer. The bus was en route from Bhubaneswar to Balasore at the time of the crash.
Though all 40 injured passengers were reported to have sustained non-critical injuries, the trailer driver identified as Ramesh Chandra Pandey was trapped between the two vehicles following the collision. Emergency responders from the fire brigade rushed to the scene and successfully rescued the trapped driver, who was then transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
Further investigation in this regard is underway.
