Bhubaneswar: The marathon wait was over. Pushpa 2 The Rule hits the silver screens across the world. The hype about solid and strong show by Allu Arjun as Pushparaj had grown bigger as the days lingered. All eyes that were riveted on stylist star Allu Arjun’s action delivery in the sequel witnessed the real drama Thursday on big screen.
How does Allu Arjun fared then?
As per veteran trade analyst and film critic Komal Nahata, Allu Arjun has delivered an exceptional job in the role of Pushpa.
“Allu Arjun is so outstanding that he should pick up all the awards, including the National Award, this year for acting. His attitude, his style, his acting, his action and stunt scenes, his expressions, his dances… they are all so wonderful that this is one performance which the world will remember for years to come,” writes veteran anayst and critic Komal Nahata.
He then added, “Pushpa’s dance while he is clad in a saree (the Jathra episode) is beyond extraordinary.”
Komal Nahata then declared the whistling moment, “His action in the climax sequence (when he has to save his niece, Kaveri) is so beautiful in concept that the audience will not tire of clapping, whistling and applauding. This action sequence, in particular, is supreme in conceptualisation and execution.”
PUSHPA 2 THE RULE FULL STORY
While the Pushpa 1 dwelt with rise of Pushparaj aka Pushpa from a coolie to chieftain of red sandalwood smugglers, wading through the waters of deceit, revenge and murder to triumph big and win the trophy of his beloved Srivalli, the sequel – Pushpa 2 – harped much to show the emotional shade of Pushparaj, in tandem with his rough and tough and Srivalli ke liye kuch bhi karega image.
Sukumar injected the emotional dose in the sequel showing the utter sadness Pushpa went through when his half-brother, Molleti Mohan Raj (Ajay), keep ridiculing him on the slightest pretext that he is the illegitimate child of their father (who is dead). A ‘hurt’ Pushpa then wished from the core of his heart about how he and his mother would get the social respect/acceptance.
The sequel story revolves mostly around Pushpa’s business rise, his relationship with beloved Srivalli, and his tension with his half-brother.
The crux of the sequel is not the Pushpa 1 tango with SP Bhanwar Singh Sekhawat, but with the Chief Minister.
The sequel revenge drama runs like this.
- Beloved Srivalli ask Pushpa to take photo with State CM
- The CM refuses to share frame with a smuggler like Pushpa.
- Pushpa was hurt and humiliated, which seeds the revenge story of the sequel Pushpa 2.
- Pushpa then vows to install Rao Ramesh as CM, and to arrange money for the Operation 'CM Change', he goes the international smuggler way.
- And it is where; when Pushpa’s ‘international’ ambition hits the roadblock of SP Sekhawat, the old fires spark between the two.
Allu Arjun’s voice is Hindi dubbed by Shreyas Talpade. And the voice-dubbing had been superb. It resonates with Allu Arjun’s actions and image.
SRIVALLI SHOW
Even as this sequel is all the way Allu Arjun’s show, Allu Arjun show wouldn’t had the magnificent run sans Srivalli. And here Rashmika Mandana lends great dignity to her character with a action full of maturity. Her sensuous show in the song ‘Peelings’ have been noteworthy.
SP SEKHAWAT
Rating the actions of Fahadh Faasil in the film, Nahata writes,” Fahadh shines as SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. His acting is so terrific that watching him on screen is nothing short of a delightful
On the whole, he comments: Pushpa: The Rule Part 2 is an unstoppable, unbelievable, unprecedented blockbuster. It has the merits to become the biggest ever grosser in Hindi cinema!
