Bhubaneswar: Iconic star Allu Arjun’s much awaited sequel Pushpa 2 The Rule turned a BOOM, if one go by the cinephiles response to the Sukumar directed movie in the State Capital City.
Odisha Capital Bhubaneswar response to the movie of the year has been 'terrific'. Three in every five rated the movie as 'Terrific'. They go gaga over the power packed Allu Arjun show.
CINEMA HOUSES 'PUSHPA' PLAY
What needs mentioning here is the cinema houses in the State Capital had not only jacked up the ticket prices by around 20% for the Day 1 show, they added more showings to cater to movie goers mega demand.
The 8 cinema houses in the city which have played the Mythri Movie makers dream movie in 67 shows totally have so far recorded occupancy of a massive 68-70 % on Day 1. Of the 67 shows, 13 have 100% occupancy. The occupancy seems high when the release date is a non-holiday day.
FRIDAY SHOWS UP 70%
The terrific response to the Pushpa 2 is evident rfrom the fact that all cinema houses in the Capital City have decided to increase the show counts for Day 2 (Friday), a non-holiday.
What twister recorded here is, the cinema chains like PVR and Cinepolis, INOX et al have brought the ticket prices of almost all the shows to the pre-hike level.

- Cinepolis Esplanade: 62.5% as on mid day
- INOX Bhawani: 59% as on Mid day
- INOX Regalia: 60.6% as on mid day.
- INOX Symphony: 51.5% a on Mid day
- PVR Utkal Galleria: 72.7% as on mid day
- Keshari Talkies: 100% by mid day
- Maharaja: 100% by Mid day

A glance at the above occupancy data estimates the average occupancy in the State Capital at around 68%.
JAWAN VS PUSHPA 2
As per reports, the occupancy for Jawan on Day 1 had been 60%, when the SRK starred movie was released on a holiday (Janmasthami).
Moreover, the reports suggest the number of showings of Allu Arjun starred Pushpa 2 The Rule has been atleast around 20% more than Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.
ODISHA OPENING: PUSHPA 2 TO BREAK KGF2
Bhubaneswar box office reports suggest that KGF Chapter had the highest grossing from the State capital. The response of Pushpa 2 puts the opening day estimates at 10-20% higher than KGF 2.
