Sambalpur, Nov 9: In a gruesome incident, a youth was bludgeoned to death in Sambalpur town on Saturday out of avenge.
The incident took place at the Thelkapada area of the Town under the Sadar Police limit in the afternoon where the youth was killed after he stabbed someone from the accused family in the morning, police sources said.
The deceased has been identified as Sanei Sandha.
According to the SDPO Sambalpur Toofan Bag, the victim had allegedly stabbed a youth from the Thelkapada residential area today. Being aggrieved over it, a youth chased the accused and bludgeoned him with a wooden batten on his head. As a result, he succumbed to severe bleeding on the spot.
Bag further said that, the Town police has seized the body from the crime spot and sent it for postmortem. Armed forces have been deployed at the DHH Sambalpur and in the Thelkapada area to deal with further provocation.
The accused is at large. Operations are underway to nab him as soon as possible, the SDPO added.
