Lucknow, Jan 20: The live broadcast of the consecration (pran-pratishtha) ceremony for Lord Ram is scheduled to be aired on Doordarshan on January 22.
The Ram temple trust is encouraging virtual participation in the ceremony, which will be presided by Varanasi priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit in Ayodhya.
To facilitate the live telecast, Doordarshan has made arrangements for the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The event will be broadcast live on DD News and DD National channels, with feeds shared with other news agencies.
For additional broadcasters, Doordarshan will provide a YouTube link. Doordarshan plans to use 40 cameras in various locations, including the new Ram temple complex, to cover the ceremony in cutting-edge 4K technology.
The live coverage will extend to different channels and locations in Ayodhya, such as Ram ki Paidi near Saryu ghat and the Jatayu statue at Kuber Tila. The broadcast will be multilingual, and private channels will receive the feed from Doordarshan. The ceremony will also be broadcast live at Indian embassies and consulates worldwide and at thousands of temples and booths across India.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced that the consecration ceremony of Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will be broadcast live at the booth level nationwide. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other dignitaries, is set to attend the 'Pran Pratishtha' on January 22, with about 8,000 guests receiving invitations. The temple complex will open to the general public from January 23 onward.
