Bhubaneswar, March 9: A Bihar-based dacoit was hospitalized in Bhubaneswar on Sunday after a police encounter.
Sleuths of the Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar encountered the mostwanted dacoit while he was in a bid to loot some ATMs along with some of his aides.
The encountered dacoit has been identified as Dipak Kumar.
Dipak was on the run after a number of ATM loot in the Capital City.
Police sources said, on inputs of ATM loot by a notorious gang, a team chased a suspected vehicle late at night. Meanwhile, a miscreant opened fire on the sleuths all of a sudden. In response, the police retaliated. As a result, the miscreant, later identified as Dipak Kumar sustained a grievous injury on his legs and fell flat at the Tankapani Road in the city.
Following this, he was taken to custody and rushed to the Capital hospital for treatment.
According to police, Dipak was mostwanted by the Bihar & Odisha Police for his involvement in scores of robbery and ATM loot.
