Bhubaneswar, March 6: The Commissionerate Police on Thursday busted a racket peddling ingenuine auto parts rebranding them as genuine.
The Badagada Police have seized a huge cache of duplicate motor parts and detained two peddlers in this connection.
The illegal business was going on in the Rajarani Colony area under the Baragada police limits in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the illegal trade hub was involved in rebranding and selling duplicate spare parts of popular brands like Honda and TVS. Apart from it the racket was also marketing counterfeit engine oil.
On reliable inputs, the Badagada police seized materials used for manufacturing duplicate engine oil, including containers, stickers, and packaging items. An agency named A K Auto Accessories was distributing these duplicate spares and engine oil from where the counterfeit products were seized and the manufacturing unit was sealed.
