Bhubaneswar, Mar 5: IPS officer Jagmohan Meena on Wednesday took charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar.
Outgoing DCP Pinaka Mishra handed the charge to Meena in the presence of Commissioner of Police.
After assuming charge, Meena, a 2013-batch IPS officer, shared his WhatsApp number (87630 04117) for the general public to report complaints. Citizens can message this number to inform authorities about any wrongdoing, with a primary focus on crimes against women and children.
Speaking to the media, he stated that the primary focus would be on investigating cases and arresting the accused. He further emphasized, “We will enhance vigilance to ensure public safety. CCTV cameras will be installed across the city to reduce crime.”
The former Cuttack DCP also highlighted that cyber security and protecting elderly citizens from digital fraud would be top priorities.
He also announced plans to strengthen the cyber police in the coming days.
