Odisha Vigilance Raids Multiple Properties Linked to Transport Official in Corruption Probe
BHUBANESWAR – Odisha's Vigilance Department launched a series of coordinated searches on Wednesday, March 6, 2025, targeting multiple properties linked to Sri Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, the Deputy Commissioner of the State Transport Authority (STA) based in Cuttack. The raids, spanning nine locations across five districts, are part of an investigation into allegations that Mohanty possesses assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The searches, authorized by warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, in Bhubaneswar, involved a significant deployment of personnel. The Vigilance team included 2 Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl. SsP), 13 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSsP), 12 Inspectors, 25 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and additional support staff.
The targeted locations paint a picture of a wide-ranging investigation, reaching beyond Mohanty's immediate residence:
- Residential House: Mohanty's home in Maitri Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
- Flat: A four-bedroom apartment in Raghunathpur, Bhubaneswar.
- Farmhouse: A property located in Kusupalla, Ranapur, Nayagarh district.
- Under-Construction Building: A five-story building currently under construction in Govindaprasad, Bhubaneswar.
- Native Place: Mohanty's ancestral home in Tangi, Khordha district.
- Relative's House: A residence belonging to a relative in Bhakti Ratna Lane, Jenari Gachha Chowk, Puri town.
- Petrol Pump: A fuel station reportedly in the name of a relative in Malipada, Bhubaneswar.
- Building Under Construction (Relative): Another construction project in Balikhand, Puri, also linked to a relative.
- Office: Mohanty's office in Cuttack.
