Bhubaneswar, Mar 26: Stones were pelted at the Vande Bharat Express near Kulanga station while it was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela on Wednesday, damaging the windowpanes.
According to initial reports, the train arrived in Rourkela on schedule in the afternoon and later departed for Bhubaneswar at 2:15 PM. Following the attack, the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Rourkela have initiated an investigation to identify the perpetrators.
Railway officials have assured to take strict action against those responsible for this reckless act. However, there are no reports of injuries to passengers in the stone pelting incident.
This is not the first time the Vande Bharat Express has been targeted. Similar incidents have occurred in other regions as well. However, thankfully, no passengers have been injured in any of these occurrences.
Indian Railways, particularly the East Coast Railway (ECoR), has been actively conducting awareness campaigns to educate the public, especially those living near railway tracks, about the dangers of throwing stones at trains. Such actions pose a serious risk to passenger safety and are strongly discouraged.
