Bhubaneswar, January 28: The Parliamentary Party meeting of the Biju Janata Dal(BJD) was held at Naveen Niwas on Tuesday ahead of the Budget Session, scheduled to be held on February 1.
BJD President Naveen Patnaik while presiding the Parliamentary party meeting here in Bhubaneswar, urged the MPs to raise the special category status issue for Odisha during the Budget Session.
Meanwhile, Naveen asked the seven Rajya Sabha members those are representing the BJD in the Parliament, to be the voice of over 4.5 crore people of the state presenting public issues.
Naveen also asked the party MPs to raise the issues of rising prices and inflation besides high unemployment and rising joblessness during the present establishement.
The MPs were also told to highlight the farmers’ penury in Odisha with Polavaram and Mahanadi water disputes besides coal royalty issues.
Apart from it, Naveen prompted the MPs to highlight the demand of establishment of full-fledged AIIMS Hospitals in Sambalpur, Koraput and Balasore and the impending Schedule tribe (ST) status demand for some essential communities.
