Bhubaneswar, January 9: Complete e-KYC of Ration Cards by 31st January, said Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Thursday.
Highlighting on the extended Public Distribution System (PDS) in Odisha, Patra said that the government is considering the cases of left-out beneficiaries who are yet away from the food security provisions. However, they are required to complete their Electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) verification by January 31. Otherwise, their enrolment will be at risk and their eligibility for getting ration cards are subject to be cancelled.
According to the government’s database approximately 49 lakh beneficiaries are yet to comply with the essential e-KYC verifications. With the completion of the statutory procedures, ration cards will be issued afresh to the deserving beneficiaries, Patra said.
Concerned government officials have been instructed accordingly to assist the beneficiaries in compliance of the e-KYC procedures, the Minister added.
