Bhubaneswar, February 21: The Odisha Assembly on Friday went stormy over the KIIT issues as the opposition BJD and Congress expressed discontent over the government’s action on the varsity’s incident.
The opposition staged a walkout in the Assembly during a debate on the KIIT issue during the adjournment motion.
The discussion turns more chaotic when Legislators, cutting across party lines expressed disappointment as the Higher Education Minister did not mention anything regarding a judicial inquiry into the matter.
The unrest in KIIT University in Bhubaneswar came after the death of a 20-year Nepali girl Prakriti Lamsal on February 16 for harassment from her boyfriend.
The varsity campus turned more erratic when the Nepali students supported by other inmates raised a massive protest over it and demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.
