He shared this message through a striking sand sculpture at Puri’s Golden Beach, emphasizing the importance of safety during the impending cyclone.

Cyclone Dana is forecasted to make landfall on the coasts of northern Odisha and West Bengal, particularly between Puri and Sagar Island, near Bhitarkanika and Dhamara, during the night of October 24 to the morning of October 25, 2024.

Authorities have prepared for the storm’s impact in affected districts, including Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, and Puri. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall across several coastal areas of Odisha.
In response to the cyclone threat, approximately 300,000 people have already been evacuated, with efforts underway to relocate up to 90% of those at risk by 11 am today. Bhubaneswar airport authorities announced a suspension of flight operations for 17 hours, from October 24 until 9 am on October 25, affecting around 45 flights that may be canceled or delayed.
Additionally, around 182 fire and rescue teams have been deployed across 14 districts in Odisha that are expected to be most severely impacted by the cyclone.
