Sanjeev Asthana, CEO of Patanjali Foods, in a statement, explained that a sample of the red chilli powder was found to contain pesticide residue exceeding the maximum permitted limit set by the FSSAI. He clarified that the FSSAI establishes Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for various food items, including red chilli powder, to ensure consumer safety.

Mr. Asthana emphasized that the recall affects a small batch of the red chilli powder, specifically four tonnes of the 200-gram packs with batch number AJD2400012. He reassured consumers that the company is committed to maintaining the highest quality standards across all its products.

Patanjali Foods is taking this opportunity to thoroughly assess its agricultural produce suppliers and implement even more stringent quality control processes. These measures aim to ensure full compliance with FSSAI regulations and maintain a fully compliant supply chain.

"The company stands committed to maintaining the highest quality standards in all its products and ensuring a fully compliant supply chain," Mr. Asthana affirmed.
