Durga Puja bonanza: Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi waives pandal ground rent

Bhubaneswar, Oct 11: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi declared a waiver of ground rent for Durga Puja pandals across Odisha, as the state celebrates the vibrant occasion of ‘Mahashtami’. This decision comes as a festive relief for Puja organizers.

Majhi visited various Durga Puja pandals in Bhubaneswar. He first took blessings of Goddess Durga at Old Town mandap and later, he visited Sudarpada Durga Puja mandap where he offered 108 lotuses to the Goddess. After Sudarpada, he reached at Baramunda puja mandap followed by Nayapalli and Rasulgarh.

 

On the day of Mahanavami, the Chief Minister is set to visit Cuttack to participate in the city's grand Durga Puja celebrations. He will also head to Keonjhar, his home district, on October 13 to partake in the Puja festivities there.

 

Earlier in the day, Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also sought blessings at the Rasulgarh Durga Puja pandal, later visiting the Saheed Nagar and Badgarh pandals in the city.
