Bhubaneswar, June 2: The final phase of the Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly polls recorded a voter turnout of 70.67 percent, informed Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja B. Dhal.
In this phase of elections, simultaneous polls were held in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 Assembly seats under them.
As per official data, Mayurbhanj Parliamentary constituency registered the highest voter turnout of 73.81 percent, followed by Jagatsinghpur Lok Sabha constituency with 73.06 percent polling.
While Balasore secured the third position with a voter turnout of 70.41 percent, Bhadrak recorded 70.34 percent polling. Similarly, Kendrapara Lok Sabha constituency recorded 68.64 percent voter turnout, and Jajpur registered 67.91 percent.
On the other hand, Bangiriposi Assembly segment in Mayurbhanj district had the highest voting percentage at 77.52 percent, whereas the Aul Assembly seat in Kendrapara district had the lowest at 62.38 percent.
Notably, the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha were held simultaneously in four phases -- May 13, 20, 25, and June 1. The counting of votes will be done on June 4.
