Bhubaneswar, Mar 19: Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Wednesday informed that schools across the state will conduct morning classes from April 2, in view of the prevailing heat wave conditions.
Earlier yesterday, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi had ordered that the Anganwadi centres will function from 7 AM to 9 AM to ensure children's safety.
Additionally, a specific time restriction has also been set for the laborers. They will be restricted from working from 11 AM to 3 PM. Strict action will be taken against those who violate this rule, Pujari informed.
Additionally, the State Government had directed the Education Department to formulate a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for conducting morning classes in schools.
The Energy Department was also instructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply between 11 AM to 5 PM and 9 PM to 6 AM during the summer months to minimize disruptions.
