Bhopal, May 15: After an intensive two-month-long campaign period in Madhya Pradesh for the Lok Sabha elections, all eyes are now on the outcome as the state awaits the results. The anticipation is palpable, with speculation rife about whether the incumbent BJP will maintain its stronghold or if the opposition Congress will make significant gains in the state.

Over the past weeks, both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC) launched vigorous campaigns aimed at garnering support from the sizable electorate of over 5.6 crore eligible voters.

During this period, Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on seven visits to the state, addressing a total of eight public meetings across various constituencies. Additionally, he conducted two massive roadshows, one in Jabalpur and another in Bhopal, underscoring the BJP's commitment to securing victory.

 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J.P. Nadda were also actively engaged in the campaign, each addressing four public meetings in Madhya Pradesh. Furthermore, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, along with Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states, lent their support to the campaign efforts.

Ashish Agrawal, the state BJP media cell chief, emphasized the party's focus on Prime Minister Modi's leadership and the government's achievements over the past decade, expressing confidence in a resounding victory for the BJP in Madhya Pradesh.

 

In contrast, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spearheaded the party's campaign, addressing five public rallies, while his sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra held one public meeting in the state. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also made a solitary public appearance in Madhya Pradesh.

Notably, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emerged as a prominent figure in the campaign, leading with the highest number of public meetings and roadshows. Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state BJP chief V.D. Sharma were active in rallying support for the party candidates.
