New Delhi, January 22: The Election Commission of India (EC) has announced that the country's total voter population has now reached 99.1 crore, an increase from 96.88 crore during last year's Lok Sabha elections.
In a statement issued ahead of National Voters' Day, the EC highlighted that the latest electoral rolls reflect a dynamic and balanced demographic, with 21.7 crore young voters in the 18-29 age group. Additionally, there has been a notable improvement in the gender ratio, which rose from 948 women per 1,000 men in 2024 to 954 in 2025.
National Voters' Day, celebrated on January 25 each year, commemorates the establishment of the Election Commission in 1950.
