Jamshedpur, Dec 8: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has emphasized that India is on track to become a USD 30 trillion economy by 2047.
Speaking at the closing event of XLRI-School of Management's platinum jubilee celebrations on Saturday, Pradhan highlighted that India, now the fastest-growing economy globally, ranks fifth and is poised to claim the third position in the next three years.
"75 years ago, when XLRI was founded, India was not even considered a major player on the economic stage. Today, we are the fastest-growing and the fifth-largest economy in the world, with a GDP of USD 3 trillion. Within the next three years, we will become the third-largest economy at USD 5 trillion. By 2047, our economy will reach USD 30 trillion," Pradhan stated.
He underscored the importance of becoming wealth creators and job generators, noting that India has the potential to create millions of jobs. "The world is turning to India for digital public infrastructure. In fact, 46% of global digital transactions occur in our country. We've also achieved self-reliance in the service sector," he added.
Pradhan further explained that the New Education Policy was designed to foster wealth creation and employment opportunities. He urged the students to contribute positively toward India's emergence as a global powerhouse and a driving force in the world economy.
