New Delhi, Oct 5: It’s time to lay down arms, forget violence and chose the peace of path, informed Home Minister Amit Shah for Left Wing Extremism (LWE) activists on Saturday.

Underlining the hurricaning strikes of the security personnel in Chhattisgarh on the Maoists’ dens yesterday, Shah used to recall his strong view i.e 'Naxalism will be eradicated by 2026' against the extremists who are wreaking panics, bloodbath and violence in the society, and said that there is no place in the democracy for violence.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai late on Friday night, hours after the security forces killed at least 31 Maoists in Dantewada district.

The operation by the security forces and the call to the CM Sai by Amit Shah came just days ahead of the Union Home Minister's high-level meeting with Chief Ministers and Home Ministers of Maoist-affected states on October 7 in the national Capital.

During the discussion, CM Sai briefed the Home Minister of the successful operation by the security forces and the detail roadmap to deal with the Maoists, on the prowl across the state.

Following the green signal from the HM, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said on his Twitter handle,   “Vishnu Deo government has come forward with a good surrender policy. Everyone should return to the mainstream... Bastar's water, forest and land belong to its people. The IEDs laid on the path of Bastar's development should be eliminated now.”

"Home Minister Amit Shah Ji has also announced from the land of Chhattisgarh that Naxalism will be eradicated by 2026. Maoism is now counting its last breaths, his post added.

Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister cleared his stance in this connection and said, “Our fight to end Maoism will now rest only after reaching its conclusion, our double-engine government is determined for this. We aim to eliminate Naxalism from the state,” he added.

However, he asserted that, the Chhattisgarh government is all set to greet them who will opt for peace and the mainstream of the society coming back from the dire decisions to continue with the naxalites.

Worth mentioning, Union Home Minister Shah is scheduled to chair a high-level meeting of Chief Ministers and Home Ministers from Maoist-affected states on October 7 in the national Capital.

While, extending condolence to the bereaved family members of some Mao- victims a couple of days ago, HM Shah urged those involved in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) to lay down arms and choose the path of peace.
