Bhubaneswar, February 3: While the Khandagiri Magha Mela is going to kick start on Tuesday, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation(BMC) has banned obscene dance on stage, during the Odia Jatras.
Underscoring the essence of the Khandagiri heritage, BMC Mayor Sulochana Das issued a letter to the mela committee in this connection.
Stern action will be initiated against the Jatra parties in case dances featuring obscene and vulgar scenes are performed on the opera stages, read the BMC letter.
Apart from the Opera Party owners, the BMC through the letter also urged the co-operation of the organisers’ committies to work out and report on performing vulgarity.
