Bhubaneswar: The match between Konark Suryas Odisha and India Capitals has been cancelled due to wet outfield and unplayable conditions at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat on Sunday. Due to continuous rain for the last two days the outfield had remained wet. Ground staff kept on drying out the outfield to make the condition better to have a good match but at the end the officials decided to cancel the match.
Both the teams have been awarded with one point each after the cancellation. Konark Suryas Odisha will remain at the second spot in the points table with 4 points from 3 matches. India Capitals move to the third place with 3 points from 3 matches.
Earlier on Friday, the highly anticipated match between Konark Suryas Odisha (KSO) and the defending champion Manipal Tigers was unfortunately abandoned due to persistent rain. So far the KSO won their season inaugural match against Manipal Tigers by two runs.
Konark Suryas Odisha will play their next match on October 2 (Wednesday) against table toppers Southern Superstars.
