New Delhi, December 5: The proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned for the day on Thursday following protests over remarks made by BJP member Nishikant Dubey. Dubey targeted Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, attempting to link him to a US-based billionaire investor.
After two prior adjournments, the House reconvened at 3 pm with the intention to pass the Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2024. However, opposition members raised their voices in protest, disrupting the session.
Jagdambika Pal, who was presiding over the session, attempted to restore order by urging Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to respond to the debate on the Bill. Despite his efforts, the protests continued, preventing the House from proceeding with its business.
