Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: In a bid to have a better assessment of loss & damage wreaked by the ‘Cyclone Dana’ , Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is all set for an aerial survey in the affected districts.
Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari informed it on Sunday.
While briefing pressers on the loss incurred across the state due to the devastation of the Cyclone Dana, Pujari said that the CM will soon embark on a aerial surey in case the weather becomes favouorable.
Underlining the losses of public properties, inhabitations and public infrastructures due to the disaster, Pujari said as many as 1,671 gram panchayats across 14 districts and 426 wards in 31 urban local bodies have incurred tremendous losses due to the Cyclone Dana.
According to the primary reports, a total of 35,95,000 people in the state have been fully affected by the cyclone, Pujari added.
The Minister further informed that as many as 1,25, 091 houses in the state have suffered full, severe or partial damages due to rain and stormy winds triggered by the cyclone.
The concerned district administrations will comply with loss assessment reports before the SRC by November 2. After receiving the final reports about the losess & damages, they will be sent to the Centre for information and necessary assistance, the Revenue Ministster said.
