Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) is making a bold move to electrify India's commercial vehicle landscape with the launch of the Mahindra ZEO, a cutting-edge electric four-wheeler small commercial vehicle (SCV). The ZEO, short for "Zero Emission Option," embodies Mahindra's commitment to environmentally friendly transportation. Building on its success in the electric three-wheeler segment, MLMML is now venturing into the four-wheeler SCV market, aiming to electrify the sub-2 tonne category and provide businesses with a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to traditional diesel-powered vehicles.

At the heart of the ZEO lies a high-voltage 300+ V architecture, delivering enhanced energy efficiency, extended range, and rapid charging capabilities. Its advanced electric motor generates an impressive 30 kW of power and 114 Nm of torque, ensuring brisk acceleration and effortless load carrying. A robust 21.3 kWh liquid-cooled battery provides ample power for daily operations, with a real-world driving range of up to 160 km.
Charging ahead
The ZEO's charging capabilities are equally impressive. A DC fast charger can replenish 100 km of range in just 60 minutes, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. The vehicle is also available with various charging configurations, including a standard 3.3 kW onboard charger for convenient overnight charging.

With a 32% gradeability, the ZEO effortlessly conquers steep inclines, a feat unmatched in the sub-2 tonne electric cargo segment. Its automatic transmission and Creep function enhance driver comfort and reduce fatigue, especially in congested urban traffic. A tight turning radius of 4.3 meters further enhances maneuverability, making the ZEO a nimble and efficient urban delivery solution.
Tech-savvy and connected
The ZEO's cabin is designed for practicality and convenience, featuring a dashboard-mounted transmission dial, a type-C USB charging slot, and a fully digital instrument console. Mahindra's NEMO telematics system provides real-time data access to fleet managers and drivers, enabling efficient fleet management, performance monitoring, and route optimization.
Safety first
Safety is paramount in the ZEO's design. An AI-enabled camera powers the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), offering features like lane departure warnings, pedestrian collision alerts, and driver behavior analysis. Hill Hold Assist ensures stability on inclines, while the IP67-rated battery and motor provide robust protection against water and dust.

With a starting price of ₹7.52 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), the ZEO offers a compelling value proposition. Mahindra estimates that users can save up to ₹7 lakh over seven years compared to a traditional diesel SCV, making it a financially attractive option for businesses seeking to reduce operating costs and embrace sustainable practices.
