Makeover of Odisha’s Chandrabhaga beach soon, Rs 46 cr earmarked

Konark, Sep 10: Odisha government has earmarked Rs 46 crore for the beautification of Chandrabhaga beach in the Puri district of Odisha. The work on Chandrabhaga beach will start within two weeks and be completed by January 2023, said Collector Samarth Verma after visiting the beach on Friday. With an aim to attract more tourist footfall to the world-famous Konark Temple, the government is planning to improve tourist amenities at the beach. The beautification of the 1 km stretch from Chandrabhaga Tirtha Pushkarini to the Eco-retreat has been focused on the transformation project. Parking spots, walking tracks, washrooms, drinking water facilities, beach lighting, and rest sheds are to come up on Chandrabhaga beach, which was the first beach in Odisha to get the 'Blue Flag' tag in 2018, Besides, water sports, open-air theatre, cycling tracks, landscaping, vending zones, and an amusement park for children have been planned.
