Bhubaneswar, April 16: After a prolonged legal struggle, Balasore Police successfully rescued a minor child from New Delhi and reunited him with his mother, bringing long-awaited justice to the distressed woman, informed Dr. Satyajit Naik, DIG of Eastern Range, Balasore.
The child’s mother, Seema Satpathy, had sought help through the Jana Sunani grievance redressal platform, bringing the matter to the attention of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. The case was subsequently entrusted to Dr. Naik, who directed the Balasore SP to ensure a thorough investigation and appropriate action.
Acting on these instructions, the Balasore Police team executed a Non-Bailable Warrant against Seema’s husband, Kamalakanta Mishra, in New Delhi. Despite a court order granting custody of the child to Seema, Mishra had continued to deny her access while evading arrest.
The operation was led by SI Lokanath Soren, ASI Dhaneswar Nanda, and Constable Bikash Kumar Mohapatra, who worked relentlessly to locate and apprehend the accused.
The case traces back to 2016, when Seema filed a dowry harassment complaint at Khantapada Police Station.
Dr. Naik praised the efforts of the police team, emphasizing that the operation reflects the unwavering commitment of Balasore Police to justice and the protection of vulnerable citizens, especially women and children.
