Mumbai , October 13 : Former Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique's mortal remains were taken from his Bandra residence in Mumbai for a state funeral on Sunday.
The final rites, with full state honors, will be held at Bada Qabrastan in Mumbai. Siddique succumbed to two gunshot wounds late Saturday after being brought to Lilavati Hospital around 9:30 pm. Despite efforts by the medical team, he could not be revived, as confirmed by Dr. Jalil Parkar.
Following the incident, Mumbai police arrested two suspects, Gurmail Singh from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh. Both were presented in Esplanade Court, with Gurmail Singh remanded to Crime Branch custody until October 21.
The court also ordered an ossification test for Dharamraj Kashyap before further proceedings.
