Bhubaneswar, Dec 19: The new judicial complex will become operational from today.
President Droupadi Murmu on Dec 5, 024 had inaugurated this new building. However, the court could not become operational earlier as the necessary records from the old court were not yet transferred to the new building.
According to Deepak Dash, the secretary of the Bhubaneswar Bar Association, a total of 52 courts will be housed in the fully operational judicial complex. However, proceedings will begin in 35 of these courts initially. From today, all court activities will be conducted in the new building. Judges, lawyers, and other officials will be present for the proceedings.
Plans are also underway to make the remaining courts operational in the new complex soon. Dash also requested that everyone visiting the court maintain cleanliness within the premises.
Parking for vehicles has been a major issue at the court.
In the new complex, parking will only be available for judges and other employees' vehicles. A special two-story parking facility has been constructed nearby, and it will be made operational within the coming week. All lawyers and other employees will be able to park their cars and bikes there.
