Odisha CM launches ‘LAccMI’ scheme to provide bus services

Bhubaneswar, Oct 12: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday launched the Location Accessible Multimodal Initiative (LAccMI) scheme in Malkangiri district.

In the first phase, the scheme will provide bus service in rural areas of six districts– Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, and Gajapati. 

It will help in improving the economic and social life of rural areas by providing transportation facilities from rural areas to urban areas, said the Chief Minister.

The state government will operate 1000 buses in the rural areas across the state with an allocated budget of Rs 3,178 crore.

The scheme envisages improved accessibility and transportation options for the people of Odisha.

The buses will run from panchayats to block headquarters and from block headquarters to district headquarters.
