Odisha CM Mohan Majhi approves 48 new posts to strengthen Vigilance dept

Bhubaneswar, Jan 1: In a significant move to bolster the fight against corruption, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the creation of 48 new positions in the state’s Vigilance Department. 

This decision, announced by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), aims to strengthen the state's anti-corruption agency and improve its operational effectiveness.

The new posts include eight Additional Superintendents of Police (SP), 24 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP), and 16 Sub-Inspectors. This expansion of the department’s workforce is expected to improve its capacity to investigate corruption cases more swiftly and hold wrongdoers accountable.

Highlighting the government’s dedication to a zero-tolerance approach to corruption, the CMO stated that these new positions are part of broader efforts to strengthen the state’s anti-corruption framework. 

The additional manpower will allow the Vigilance Department to handle cases more effectively, ensuring greater transparency and accountability within Odisha’s administration.
