Malkangiri, Feb 23: In a shocking incident, a doctor has been arrested on charges of 'raping' a woman on false promise of marriage in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
The accused has been identified as Dr Amit Kumar Sahu, who works as an Ayurveda practitioner in Motu locality of the district.
As per the allegations, Sahu deceived a young woman from the same area into a physical relationship by promising marriage. However, he later relocated to his native village and married someone else.
Following this, the woman filed a complaint with the local police based on which the cops registered a case and arrested the accused from Sambalpur. He was later produced before the court.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
