Paradip, Mar 12: In an unfortunate incident, the driver of a car was burnt alive after the vehicle caught fire in Odisha’s Paradip late last night.
The identity of the deceased person is yet to be ascertained.
As per reports, locals spotted the car engulfed in flames near Hatitanki on the outskirts of Paradip City and alerted the fire department.
Upon getting the information, Firefighters arrived at the spot and swung into action to douse the flames. Unfortunately, the driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle, suffered severe burn injuries and died on the spot.
Police have seized the victim’s body and sent it for post-mortem.
However, the exact reason that caused the fire is yet to be ascertained. Further investigation into the matter was underway.
