Patna, March 12:  The Bihar Assembly witnessed intense drama on Wednesday as Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi launched a strong attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling for his resignation. The uproar led to RJD MLAs walking out of the session, accusing the CM and the ruling NDA of disrespecting women, including Rabri Devi herself.

Rabri Devi, in particular, lashed out at Nitish Kumar, accusing him of disrespecting women. "Nitish Kumar consumes 'bhaang' and then comes to the Assembly. He disrespects women, including me. He should reflect on the work we did when we were in power. He parrots what those around him say. His party members and some BJP leaders are urging him to make such statements," she remarked.

Tejashwi Yadav also joined in, demanding that Nitish Kumar resign. "Nitish Kumar should step down. My father, Lalu Yadav, became an MP before him. Nitish couldn't have become CM without our support. He should retire to an ashram because he is incapable of running the government. What is he doing with the future of 14 crore people? His condition is unstable," Yadav said, addressing the Assembly.

The political tension had been escalating since March 7, when Nitish Kumar accused the RJD of practicing dynastic politics. The Bihar CM criticized Lalu Prasad Yadav for appointing his wife, Rabri Devi, as CM in 1997 when he was jailed in connection with the fodder scam. "You (RJD leaders) belong to a party where a husband made his wife the CM. You (RJD) claim to have empowered women, but what real work have you done for them? How much progress have we made for women? Do you understand the difference?" Nitish Kumar had remarked in the Assembly.
