Dhenkanal, Mar 3: An elephant was found dead reportedly due to injuries sustained during a fight with another pachyderm at Kamakhyanagar in Odisha’s Dhenkanal forest range today morning.
Forest officials informed that the pachyderm had migrated from the Joranda area about five days ago. The carcass of the elephant, whose age is nearly 30-years, was found near Jamujhara village under the Kamakhyanagar forest section in the western part of the Dhenkanal forest division.
Forest officials are investigating the cause of the fight that led to the elephant’s death.
