Koraput, Mar 5: Breathtaking landscapes of Odisha’s Koraput district has been captivating tourists as well grabbing the attention of celebrated filmmakers as a prime shooting location.
This time the stunning hills and dense forests of Koraput has enthralled celebrated director SS Rajamouli, known for his cinematic spectacles like Baahubali and RRR, as he has chosen the location as the backdrop for his upcoming big-budget film SSMB29.
SSMB29 will be an action-packed jungle adventure film being made with a massive budget of approximately Rs 1,000 crore and is set to be a grand cinematic experience.
According to sources, South superstar Mahesh Babu and Bollywood icon Priyanka Chopra will be soon arriving in Koraput for the shoot. The director’s team has already scouted and finalized key locations, with Rajamouli himself visiting the district before giving the green light.
Filming for the movie is set to begin on March 28, and a 500-member crew is already in Koraput preparing for the shoot.
Stunning locations like Deomali, Talamali, and Machkund will serve as major filming spots, with the first schedule primarily focusing on Talamali.
In anticipation of the massive production, hotels in the Semiliguda area have been fully booked to accommodate the crew.
It is worth mentioning that Koraput has been a favorite destination for South filmmakers in recent years. Actress Anushka Shetty spent nearly a month shooting for Ghaati in the region, while Tollywood star Venkatesh filmed crucial scenes of Sankranthiki Vasthunam at Balda Caves.
Now, with SSMB29 set to roll, Koraput’s cinematic appeal continues to grow, promising to showcase its natural beauty on an even bigger scale.
