Jagatsinghpur, Mar 23: In a ghastly incident, an explosion rocked a book warehouse near Jagatsinghpur Janata Kothi in Odisha leaving at least three people seriously injured and reducing books worth lakhs of rupees to ashes.
As per reports, the incident took place late last night. The intensity of the blast was so powerful that it cracked the walls of the warehouse. After hearing the loud explosion, locals jumped to their rescue and rushed the victims to Jagatsinghpur Hospital for primary treatment.
They were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their health condition deteriorated.
Upon getting the information, Balikuda fire brigade rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
The exact cause of the explosion is being ascertained and further investigating into the incident is underway, said the police.
