Mumbai, March 24: YouTuber and comedian Samay Raina appeared before officials from the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Monday to record his statement in connection with the ongoing India's Got Latent controversy. Raina was seen leaving the Cyber Cell office following the meeting.
The comedian recently rescheduled his India tour amidst the controversy surrounding the show. His decision to adjust the tour schedule comes in light of the legal case against him for allegedly promoting obscenity and vulgar content through India's Got Latent.
The controversy escalated after an FIR was filed earlier this month against Raina, fellow YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, and others involved with the show. The FIR was lodged over accusations of promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions during the show, which is publicly available on YouTube. Officials revealed that Ashish Chanchlani had previously appeared before the Guwahati Crime Branch in February to record his statement.
