Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s powerlifter Gadadhar Sahu made the state proud by securing a bronze medal in the 65kg category at the Khelo India Para Games 2025 at Delhi on Monday. With a best lift of 143 kg, Sahu showcased his strength and determination on the national stage.
The gold medal in this category was clinched by Joby Mathew from Kerala, who lifted an impressive 148 kg, while Arvind Makwana from Gujarat secured silver with a lift of 146 kg.
Similarly, Sabitri Behera has made the state proud by securing a bronze medal in the 50kg category at the Khelo India Para Games 2025 held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi.
Competing against some of the country’s best para-athletes, Sabitri demonstrated immense strength and determination. Pratima Bonde from Maharashtra clinched the gold medal with a best lift of 85kg, while Gomathi from Tamil Nadu secured the silver medal with a best lift of 60kg. Sabitri Behera fought hard and lifted 38kg, earning the bronze medal.
