Bargarh, Jan 2: In a bid to expand the reach of Odisha’s iconic Bargarh Dhanu Yatra, the state government has announced that the event will be live-streamed across major cities and district headquarters. LED screens will be set up in cities like Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Cuttack, Berhampur, and Puri, allowing residents who cannot attend the festival in Bargarh to experience it in real-time.
Bargarh Dhanu Yatra, known as the world’s largest open-air theater festival, is a vibrant cultural celebration that re-enacts significant episodes from the Mahabharata, with a special focus on Lord Krishna’s visit to Mathura. This traditional festival holds immense cultural value in Odisha, drawing thousands of visitors every year.
The live-streaming initiative aims to bridge the distance for those who are unable to attend in person, offering them a chance to engage with the state’s rich cultural heritage. By installing screens in key cities, the government seeks to connect citizens from all corners of the state to the artistic brilliance of the festival, making it accessible to a larger audience.
This move is expected to boost the cultural visibility of the Dhanu Yatra, promoting Odisha’s legacy while fostering inclusivity. It also aligns with the government’s efforts to ensure that such cherished traditions are celebrated widely, allowing all residents, irrespective of their location, to partake in the festive experience.
