Koraput, Mar 3: In a dramatic turn of events, a woman successfully thwarted her husband’s secret attempt to marry another woman in Borigumma area of Odisha’s Koraput district today.
According to reports, Jamuna Samarth, a resident of Dulaguda village under Borigumma police limits, lodged a complaint stating that her husband, Bipin Samarth, was planning to marry another woman despite being legally married to her.
Acting on her complaint, police swung into action and reached the location and stopped Bipin from marrying Gamoti Samarth, a woman from the same village.
Jamuna revealed that she and Bipin had a love marriage 17 years ago and have a 16-year-old son, Raj Samarth.
She alleged that her husband had been secretly planning the second marriage without her knowledge.
Upon learning about his advances, Jamuna rushed to the police station and staged a protest, prompting the cops to intervene and stop the marriage.
Police have registered a case and taken Bipin into custody for further questioning.
Further investigation into the matter is underway to authenticate Jamuna’s claims and ascertain whether Bipin had legally divorced his first wife before attempting to remarry or not.
