New Delhi, April 23: In response to the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) has called an emergency meeting in New Delhi on Thursday, April 24. The decision was announced by AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal on Tuesday evening.

The attack, which occurred at the popular tourist destination in South Kashmir, claimed the lives of at least 26 people and left many others injured, sending shockwaves across the country.

"The Congress Working Committee will meet urgently tomorrow at 11:00 AM at 24, Akbar Road, in light of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam," Venugopal stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Earlier in the day, Venugopal visited PCR Hospital in Srinagar to pay his respects to the victims. In an emotional message on social media, he described the heartbreaking scenes at the hospital.

"The atmosphere was filled with sorrow—families shattered, innocent lives lost, dreams ended too soon. The pain and silence echoed the brutal reality of terrorism and its deep impact on humanity," he wrote.

He further emphasized the need for unity in the face of such violence. "We must not only mourn but also stand firm in our resolve against terror. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims. India will remember this tragedy forever."
