Bhubaneswar, April 16: Paramita Satpathy Tripathy, Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer and celebrated Odia litterateur, has officially assumed the prestigious post of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (PCCIT) for the state of Odisha.
A member of the 1989 batch of the Indian Revenue Service, Tripathy brings with her a wealth of administrative experience and a distinguished record of public service. Throughout her career, she has held several critical and senior-level positions within the Income Tax Department, particularly in Odisha, where she is known for her leadership and commitment to transparent and efficient tax administration.
Apart from her contributions to public service, Paramita Satpathy Tripathy is also widely admired in literary circles for her profound and sensitive storytelling.
As a prominent writer in Odia literature, she has carved out a niche for herself with works that reflect deep social consciousness and human emotion. Her literary excellence has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award in 2006, the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in 2016, and the Sarala Award in 2021.
In addition to her roles in the Income Tax Department, she also served as the Director of Finance at the Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited (OPGC), where she played a key role in streamlining financial operations and driving institutional growth.
