Guwahati, February 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a road show in Guwahati ahead of the 'Jhumoir Binandini' event at Sarusajai Stadium. Jhumoir, a folk dance from Assam's Tea Tribe and Adivasi communities, represents the values of inclusivity, unity, and cultural pride, showcasing the state’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. The event symbolizes Assam’s harmonious blend of traditions.
PM Modi is on a two-day visit to the state, during which he will inaugurate the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit tomorrow. Upon his arrival in Guwahati, the Prime Minister was warmly received by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the airport. CM Sarma expressed his honor in welcoming the “world’s most popular leader” and stated, “Prime Minister’s vision guides our efforts in building a developed Assam.”
As PM Modi made his way to the venue for the 'Jhumoir Binandini' program, people greeted him enthusiastically. During the event, Assam CM Sarma presented traditional gifts to PM Modi. Upon reaching the stage at Sarusajai Stadium, the Prime Minister greeted the crowd with a warm wave, acknowledging the audience's energy and enthusiasm. CM Sarma was also present by his side.
In his speech, PM Modi expressed his excitement for the performance by the artists and thanked the Assam government for organizing the program. “I am looking forward to the vibrant showcase of Assam’s culture,” he said.
Later, PM Modi is set to inaugurate the Advantage Assam 2.0 event, which will bring together union ministers, industrial leaders, ambassadors, and other dignitaries for a major Infrastructure & Investment Summit.
