Mumbai, Feb 24: YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahbadia approached the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Monday to record their statements in connection with the ongoing controversy surrounding the 'India's Got Latent' show. The two were summoned after allegedly promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions on the public YouTube show.

According to the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, both Chanchlani and Allahbadia contacted officials and expressed their intention to record their statements. "Maharashtra Cyber Cell has issued summons to both individuals to record their statements today," the Cyber Cell stated.

An FIR has also been filed against Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and all others involved with the 'India's Got Latent' show. Yashasvi Yadav, Inspector General of the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, confirmed that 42 individuals, including artists, producers, and influencers, have been summoned for questioning in relation to the controversy. Statements have already been recorded from key figures like Devesh Dixit and Raghu Ram.

The controversy erupted following podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s appearance on the show. His question to a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents... or join in once and stop it forever?" sparked widespread outrage and led to a formal complaint against Allahbadia, Raina, comedian Apoorva Mukhija, and the show's organisers.

On February 18, the Supreme Court weighed in on the issue, strongly condemning Allahbadia's comments. Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh described the remarks as "dirty and perverted," stressing that such behavior must be categorically condemned. In response, host Samay Raina has removed the controversial episodes of 'India's Got Latent' from public viewing.
